Best money can buy
A couple of observations on the upcoming election. Firstly, can I relatively compare the money outlaid by the National Party candidate with the millions spent by Clive Palmer, a chap who won't even pay his workers. It is a fact that every hundred metres or so anywhere in or around Nowra there is one of her signs in view, which proves this may be the best election money can buy. Secondly to Warren Mundine, we do not want or need a nuclear power station either in the Shoalhaven or elsewhere and if indeed he can remember the last time one was proposed it was in a most delicate location. I shudder to visualise what would have happened should it have become a reality.

Farmers contradiction
From media reports and discussions it would appear the majority of farmers intend to support Liberal/National Party candidates in the coming election. Climate change has been identified as one of the major electoral issues facing the country and one that is impacting right now on farms and farmers. There appears to be a contradiction where the conservatives are climate change deniers without anyeffective plan to address the issue and on the other hand, farmers recognise and see the result of more frequent droughts, floods bush fires etc as the result of a changingclimate.
When asked farmers state that they support the conservatives because they represent business This is difficult to understand while the big supermarket chains rip-off dairy farmers along with other food producers and mining licenses are handed out on good agricultural land to the mining industry. Tax cuts and subsides are no good if you don't have a business. It is all about big business.

Pension persuasion
It disgusts me that the Liberal Candidate for Gilmore, flown in by the PM at the expense of the already endorsed Candidate, can have a bus driven around the electorate promising to increase pensions if the Coalition are voted back in. Questioned about this on WIN news he blatantly answered that pensions will be increasing twice next year.
Perhaps, coming from the North Shore, the Liberal candidate wasn't aware that pensions have risen twice a year for some time in March and September. His supposed promise shows the contempt he has towards pensioners. Some who wonder how they are going to survive from one day to the next. The promise is a complete lie and would suggest that, because he has misled a great number of constituents in the Gilmore electorate, he should resign from his position immediately.

Fences should keep kids in
When the fencing of our schools became the norm I accepted this as a safety measure to protect our children.
Then we have the current trend of students of all ages attending climate change protests outside various parliamentarians electoral offices during week days. One must ask who is responsible for the allowing of children to attend these protests, the teachers, principals or are they encouraged to do so by the same people?
A simple solution would be to lock the gates and keep the students in during school hours. Sadly it would appear the students are being used, encouraged and organised by those who have unrestricted access to the minds and thoughts of our children.
Shame on you the Education Department, teachers and principals in your open display of leftist and socialistic activities in using our children to further enhance your warped ideologies.
Labor is always on about wanting more funds for education and I say simply earn what you are already paid and keep your responsibilities in perspective.
Educate and not manipulate our children.
