Handler Mick Campbell entered the heavyweight Pacific oyster on behalf of Southern Oyster Culture and farmer Martin Jackson.
Heavyweight Hagrid weighed in at a whomper 2.25kg, edging out fellow Clyde contestants Jack (2.18kg) and Clyde Junior (1.7kg).
MC John Susman initially thought Mick was feeding Hagrid "pineapple pizza" but phytoplankton was closer to the truth.
Gracious in defeat was last year's star, Jack, and handler Bernie Connell.
Jack weighed in last year at 1.9kg, but missed out on a place in the Guinness World Records, which is judged on length, not weight.
This year Jack had gained 280 grams, weighing in at 2.18kg for Montague Vet's Dr Kate Le Bars.
However Mr Connell said Jack had recently spawned and lost weight "which would have been worth 400g".
One to watch is Wilson, from Greenwell Point. Wilson's young handler Lily Riepsamen took the juvenile Pacific to a solid first showing of 1.45kg on a solid diet of "lollies" and more traditional fare.
Mum and dad Angela and Leon, of Goodnight Oysters, watched proudly from the stand after driving from their Shoalhaven River business for the festival.
