As winter starts to bite the community is asked to donate a new pair of socks or jocks for homeless people in May of any size, colour or gender.
This is the program's second year and organiser Grace Rey knows the generous community will help the less fortunate.
"I am asking the community to once again help with this vital cause and show their incredible support and the same spirit that they showed last year," she said.
"I was very heartened by the response last year and I am really looking forward to this year's campaign."
Grace said many people don't know how much comfort a pair of socks or new underwear can offer.
"Socks and Jocks are the least donated item and to a homeless person. It's a sign of warmth and keeps their feet dry," Grace said.
"A loss of shelter for the homeless community means a loss of sleeping in a safe shelter and away from mud and water.
"Homeless people do a great deal of walking and socks fend off diseases as well."
The socks and jocks will be given to the Bomaderry based Salt Ministries for distribution.
Grace is reaching out to the Shoalhaven and Illawarra communities for support.
This year's drop off points are:
Gaynor Peters Property & Terry Rayner Mobile lending 55 Meroo St Bomaderry, ANZ bank Branch Nowra 98/100 Junction St Nowra and First National Brailey Figtree Shop 111, Figtree Grove shopping Centre Princes Highway Figtree.
Grace said homelessness continues to be a national crisis.
"The shortage of affordable housing, domestic and family violence, inter generational poverty, financial crisis and long term unemployment which is an enormous problem in this region," Grace said.
"Mental illness is also another significant concern in our region which can often result in homelessness."
She would like to thank all the people who supported the campaign, including Jamie McAinsh from The Marketing Clan who once again has helped with the marketing of this year's Socks n Jocks.
