The popular back area at Bendeela will be open from noon on Friday 12 April and will close at noon on Monday 29 April. This area includes the family friendly and alcohol-free camping zones.
High visitation rates are expected at Bendeela, especially over the Easter long weekend. If capacity is reached, there will be limits placed on campers entering the site. Any restrictions will be published on the WaterNSW website.
Security will be posted on site throughout the school holiday period -- and all visitors to Bendeela are reminded to respect other visitors and wildlife and, most importantly, stay safe.
WaterNSW staff will also be making regular patrols throughout the holiday period.
"Bendeela is part of Greater Sydney's drinking water catchment, so all visitors are urged to follow the rules," a WaterNSW spokesperson said.
Bendeela Recreation Area is home to many native animals, especially wombats. All visitors are asked to give wildlife space during their visit and alert staff should they encounter a sick or injured animal.
Visitors to Bendeela are reminded that there will be signage on site and brochures are available with more information on wombats.
