The Animal Welfare League Shoalhaven has five rabbits looking for new homes, ranging in age from around 10 weeks to two years, both male and female.
Rabbits make wonderful pets but they do come with some requirements. They need to be able to run around, so as well as their hutch they need a minimum of 2m2 exercise area.
Rabbits hutches should also be protected from mosquitoes with a fly screen. All the bunnies have just been vaccinated but they will need an annual booster needle to protect them from calicivirus.
Feeding rabbits is fairly straight forward with grass or hay needing to make up 80-90 per cent of their daily food requirement. This is supplemented with a daily serve of pellets and some mixed veges.
A requirement of adoption is an agreement to have the bunny desexed. AWL will be providing desexing vouchers to adopters to assist with part of the cost to have the desexing done.
If you think that you can provide a loving home to one (or more) of the rabbits, give AWL NSW - Shoalhaven Branch a call on 0429 429885.
