Luckily, there are some pretty spectacular spots in the Shoalhaven if you're looking for a slice of paradise. A couple are hidden right near the CBD. For our top three, read on.
One: Behind Nowra Stocklands. Wait, hear us out. There's a walking track behind the (admittedly, very stark) Stocklands Nowra building. Overlooking a creek full of water lillies and open paddocks, with a mountainous horizon in the distance, if you're after a soothing view in town, you could definitely do worse.
Two: St Georges Basin. South of Nowra, it seems like Hyams Beach gets all the attention. Just a little further south is St Georges Basin. Although it isn't open ocean, if you're after a fishing or kayaking adventure, you'll be more than satisfied. Plus, you can skip the crowds - and the view is pretty dang spectacular.
Three: Back in the Nowra CBD, Ben's Walk is a favourite - and with good reason. The meandering walk is the ideal place to unwind and reset - especially if you can sneak out of the office and drink in the expansive river views on a tough day in the office.
