Women's Golf on Thursday found that winter is on its way with a chilly morning greeting the players for the annual 4BBB Stableford event generously sponsored by Wendy Woodward, our local Nutrimetics Consultant.
However, we were all happy to be on the course again after the cancellation of the Medal round last week due to the prevailing inclement weather.
It was pretty tough early going with the dew still fresh on the fairways and greens which resulted in much less run, uncooperative thick rough and tricky putting conditions.
The prizes for the successful teams in this event are always much sought after.
Wendy presents the winners with beautiful Nutrimetics products which enhance our natural beauty by revitalising our skin to enable it to cope with the demands of our active lives.
Therefore this competition is always keenly contested and the results usually close.
The lucky winners today, Jeanette Bright and Robyn Moore, scraped in on a countback with 42 points from second place getters, Pauline Lawrence and Maree Mclean also with 42.
It was great to have Pauline back to visit and it was a very fitting result for both Pauline and Maree. Pauline had managed to score a "Hole-in-One on the 8th and Maree was celebrating her 70th Birthday today!
Well done on both counts ladies. The third spot was claimed by Wendy Phillips and Lyn Hatton who was close on their heels with a score of 41 points.
The winner of the Nine Hole competition was Kirsten Themsen . Nearest the Pins 4th - Division 1 Des Thornett; Division 2 Nancye Massingham; Division 3 Sandra Rigney 17th - Division 1 Jill Levi; Division 2 Lyn Hatton; 12th (Nine Holes) - Lorraine Frew.
Next week we will be playing the postponed 2nd GNSW and WGN Monthly Medal so let's hope for a repeat of the great weather experienced today.
