The Southern Illawarra team was made up of representatives from Port Kembla to Jervis Bay.
The boys had already gone through a competitive selection process at the zone and district levels to be selected for this team.
On the day the Southern Illawarra team won every game in convincing fashion against teams from the Eurobodalla, Southern Highlands, Northern Illawarra and Far South Coast. They finished the carnival undefeated and took home the Regional Shield.
Taj Malmborg and Oliver Driscoll played magnificently and were selected to represent the South Coast in the PSSA NSW AFL Carnival to be held in Penshurst Sydney during May.
This is a stunning achievement considering the selectors only choose a squad of 22 from 110 talented players from throughout the region.
