Jadon Lavington's Breakers earned their spot in round four, thanks to a gutsy 2-1 win at Woy Woy.
"I thought we played good in patches against Woy Woy," Gerringong skipper Andy Lockard said.
"We have a few new players and managed to stick to our plan considering - thankfully we knuckled down and got the job done."
This win put the Breakers into the draw for round four, which pitted the National Premier League side Sutherland.
"To draw a NPL side and a club with a rich history on the national stage such as the Sutherland Sharks is really exciting," Lockard said.
"This is why we started entering the FFA Cup three years ago.
"We have been drawn away every round since.
"So this is a great reward for our hardworking club people and the town.
"This is what we dreamed of when we entered the tournament."
Despite the strength of their opposition, the reigning Bolden Blackmore Shield holders, who now play in the Football South Coast competition, will go in confident to next week's clash.

"There is absolutely no doubt we are up against a quality team," Lockard said.
"We are massive underdogs in this clash, but we have been building our tactics and game over the last three years with a clear plan and very experienced football brains behind that plan.
"It's basically up to us players whether we go out and stick to that plan or not.
"That will determine whether this match is a success for us.
"We have a proud town and club behind us, that's for sure."
Kick-off is at 8.30pm.
In other news, the South Coast Flame, featuring Shoalhaven Heads-Berry's Matt White and Huskisson-Vincentia's Alex Boardman, will travel to Chopin Park, Plumpton to face the Western Condors.
