In recent weeks, the Ian Ozolins' Tigers have jumped out of the gun at the start of the contest, but that wasn't the case this week, falling behind by as many as seven in the first quarter, before going in the first break down 19-14.
The start of the second quarter wasn't much better for the Tigers at the Bankstown Basketball Stadium, as the hosts jumped out to a 12 point advantage, with just over two minutes remaining in the half.
But the Tigers outscored the Bruins 9-3 in the final few minutes, to take confidence into the break, down 38-32.
This momentum carried into the third, as the Tigers hit the front for the first time midway through the term - an advantage they held all the way until three-quarter time (66-62).
In the final term, the Tigers never relinquished their lead, despite the Bruins closing it to just one point on numerous occasions, as they held on to record a memorable win 87-82.
In the win, Bruce Ozolins continued his strong scoring run, by torching the Bruins for 37 points, as Williams Ozolins (16 points) and Billy Campbell (15) also reached double figures.
The Tigers are again on the road this Saturday, travelling to the Snakepit to battle the Illawarra Hawks from 4pm.
