There were tears and pride when twelve-year-old Tlia O'Mullane shaved for a cure on Saturday, March 31.

The ambitious tween tripled her goal of raising $500 for cancer research, after watching family members, including an aunt, suffer with the disease.
"I raised $1500, I'm pretty psyched about that one," she said.
"My aunty felt good about it - there were some tears, but she felt pretty proud of me."
Not content to stop there, Tlia donated her hair to children in need.
"My hair was just long enough to donate to the alopecia foundation," she said.
"The best part was seeing all the ponytails in my hair - it just made me think all of this hair is going to go to some girl or by that needs it."
She said although some people didn't understand her decision to take action on a cause close to her heart, it didn't matter.
"I've come to the realisation that people have a lot of things to say about people's hair when they shave it off," she said.
"I feel pretty good about it, myself."
