Shoalhaven City Council's new mobile library van will be unveiled at an official launch at the Ulladulla Civic Centre on Wednesday, April 3 from 11am. Mayor Amanda Findley has encouraged book lovers from around the region to come and check out the state-of-the-art van at the official launch.
This new van joins council's mobile library service that travels more than 125 kilometres around the Shoalhaven every week. The new van will complement the existing service and be used predominantly in the southern parts of the city.
Thanks to more than $140,000 worth of grant funding from the NSW State Public Library Infrastructure, this new addition will hold up to 1000 books, CDs and DVDs. The van also features a retractable awning to allow for outside seating and free Wi-Fi enabled wherever it travels.

The new van is available for possible outreach services, pop up libraries and home library deliveries. Shoalhaven Libraries' mobile library service visits more than 40 communities each week on a two-week schedule and carries a range of stock that is regularly updated.
