For deeper colours leave the eggs to soak in their dye baths in the fridge until you reach the hue you need.
Blue eggs
Boil together 2 cups shredded red cabbage with 3 cups water for 10 minutes. Allow to cool, strain, stir in 1/4 cup white vinegar and add hard-boiled eggs. Cover and place in the fridge overnight.
Yellow eggs
Add 5 tbsp turmeric to 3 cups boiling water. Allow to cool, stir in 1/4 cup white vinegar and add hand-boiled eggs. Cover and place in the fridge overnight.
Pink eggs
Boil together 1 medium beetroot cut into chunks with 4 cups water for 10 minutes. Allow to cool, strain, stir in 1/4 cup white vinegar and add hard-boiled eggs. Cover and place in the fridge for 1 hour or until the desired colour is achieved.
Green eggs
Boil together the skin from 6 red onions with 3 cups water for 15 minutes. Allow to cool, strain, stir in 1/4 cup white vinegar and add hard-boiled eggs. Cover and place in the fridge overnight.
Orange eggs
Boil together the skin from 6 brown onions with 3 cups water for 15 minutes. Allow to cool, strain, stir in 1/4 cup white vinegar and add hard-boiled eggs. Cover and place in the fridge overnight.
