THE results are in and the who's who of Australian surfing, including Culburra Beach's Mikey Wright, Gerroa's Sally Fitzgibbons and Ulladulla's Russell Bierke, have been shortlisted for the 2019 Australian Surfing Awards.

Wright will go up against Ryan Callinan and Julian Wilson for Male Surfer of the Year while Fitzgibbons, fresh off a win at Surfest, Stephanie Gilmore and Samantha Bloom will contest the women's division.
While Ulladulla's Bierke, fresh of making his debut on the WSL Big Wave Tour, is up against Laura Enever and Ross Clarke-Jones in the Heavy Water Award.
The night, which also incorporates the hall of fame, will be hosted at the QT Gold Coast on Tuesday, April 2 - with Mikey's siblings Owen and Tyler both claiming prizes at last year's event.
Grayson Hinrichs, Micah Margieson and Caleb Tancred (male) and Zahli Kelly, Pacha Luque-Light and Molly Picklum (female) have been shortlisted for the two rising star categories.
World-renowned photographers John Respondek, Ted Grambeau, Ray Collins, Stu Gibson and Trent Mitchell are just a few of the big names in the top 20 Nikon Surf Photo of the Year Award.
Again in 2019, entries in the Nikon Surf Video of the Year were of the highest standard with judges working overtime to adjudicate on a top three finalists list.
When results came in it was world stars Chippa Wilson and Jack Robinson's edits that joined Nathan Oldfield's 'Wajung' in the top three.
The other four awards on offer are the ASB Greater Good Award (Patagonia and Fight For the Bight Alliance, Surfrider Foundation Australia and Victorian Indigenous Surfing Program), Peter Troy Lifestyle (Sam Egan, Al Hunt and Terry Richardson), Simon Anderson Club Award (Noosa Boardriders Club, North Steyne Boardriders and Seaview Boardriders Club) and Surf Culture Award (Sean Doherty - 'Never Town', Simon Baker - 'Breath' and Rob Reynolds and Terry Richardson - 'Richo').
