This week saw a watershed moment in our campaign to have the highway fixed. While we're thrilled the NSW Coalition has pledged almost $1 billion, we recognise it's a promise and promises don't get things built, money does. But a pledge is a pledge and we will hold the government accountable if it's elected. We are also going after Labor to have them match the commitment. That's because we believe saving lives should always be above politics. No matter who wins on March 23 the highway south of Nowra needs to fixed.

The other big issue we've pursued this week is the hospital. Many of you know Martin Jones, the head surgeon at Shoalhaven Hospital. Not for the first time, he's come out swinging at the lack of resources he says has led to the cancellation of elective surgery. He's been backed by another well respected local surgeon yet the local health district disputes what both are saying. Keep an eye on the website as we stay on this story next week. And if you have anything to add, shoot us an email.
