Riley Mason, Daniel Lawler and Mitchell Parrott all gained base with one more run coming in from an error. Mason O’Rourke reached base on a fielder’s choice bringing in our fourth run of the innings.
Mariners then took the field with Mason O’Rourke and Mitchell Parrott catching, with Pirates’ batting line-up proving too strong, bringing five across the plate. Emrys Mulvihill hit a home run out to centre field.
With Mariners taking Pirates by surprise in the first innings they put on a stronger pitcher not allowing Mariners to score any over home plate. Pirates continued their batting dominance bringing in another five across home plate.
In the third innings Pirates continued to stop Mariners from scoring, and when Mariners took the field they stepped up, not allowing Pirates to score.
The fourth innings saw Pirates bring on one of their stronger pitchers, striking out three batters in succession. As hard as Mariners tried they still could not contain the strength of the Pirates batting letting them put another five across plate.
The fifth and final innings saw Mariners put on a spurt with Mariners getting three on base, Cameron Goulden being a safe hit. Once again Pirates put five across the plate for a final score of 20-4.
