Dianne Helen Poole, 54, returned a breath reading of 0.261 when stopped by police in Greville Avenue, Sanctuary Point on September 6 last year.
Poole had previously pleaded guilty to high range drink driving and in Nowra Local Court on Wednesday, January 30 Magistrate Gabriel Fleming fined her $2000, sentenced her to a 15-month intensive corrections order for which she must perform 120 hours of community service.
She was also disqualified from driving for eight months and must have an interlock device fitted to her car for two years.
Court papers said Poole, who is also known as Diane Helen Thomas, was caught by a mobile police patrol just after 6.30pm in the Sanctuary Point area.
Officers stopped Poole’s silver Ford sedan which was travelling west at the time to conduct a random breath test, which returned a positive reading.
Later at the Huskisson Police Station she returned a reading five times the limit 0.261.
Poole told police she had consumed two 375ml stubbies of Storm beer in an unknown time.
However officers believe she was more significantly affected.
Court records showed Poole had previously been given a nine-month suspended sentence for high range drink driving in 2008 and also had a mid range offence and special range drink drive offences.
