A POWERFUL century by Sussex Inlet opener Paul Kezik has put his team on top after day one of their match against North Nowra-Cambewarra at the Bernie Regan Sporting Complex.

Kezik, who hit 10 boundaries and one six on his way to scoring 107, was the backbone of Sussex’s first innings total of 229, from 59.1 overs in the middle.
Christian Sargood (21) and Deklin Matson (20) also batted well for the visitors, while Hyeon Parsons (4/36), Tobias Hanger (2/42) and Alan Muggleton (2/44) all did their part with the ball.
In reply, Norths are on the back foot, falling to be 2/8 at stumps, thanks to wickets from Jon Kingston (1/1) and Riley Jarrett (1/5).
At Bomaderry Oval, Batemans Bay won the toss and elected to bat against the Tigers.
Behind Ryan Hall’s 54, Praveen Varghese’s 50 and Anthony Mortimer’s 43, the visitors went on to make 250 from their 66.1 overs.
With the cherry, the host were best served by Anthony Johnston (4/59) and Mathew Bell (2/67).
At Lighthouse Oval, Berry-Shoalhaven Heads recorded an improbable first innings and outright win against Ulladulla United within one day.
After winning the toss and sending the hosts in, the Magpies rolled United for just 40 in their first innings.
The only United batsmen to reach double figures was Eddie Lee (10), while Callum Crapp (3/3), Logan Cosgrove (2/0), Daniel Watson (2/4) and Nathan Thorn (2/8) did the majority of the damage for the Magpies.
In reply, Berry easily claimed first innings points by reaching 2/117, before declaring in the 21st over.
Watson backed up his strong play with the ball by top scoring with 50 not out, while opener Aaron Coutts-Smith scored 41 not out.
The two wicket takers for United were Kane Morgan (1/31) and Darren Smith (1/36).
In their second stint with the ball, Berry wasted little time dismissing United again, taking just 15.5 overs to bowl them out 18 runs.
Thorn (6/6 from 7.5 overs) and Lachlan Duggan (4/10 from eight overs) then ripped through the United line-up, to secure maximum points for the Magpies.
The final match of the round, at Sanctuary Point Oval, sees Shoalhaven Ex-Servicemens zeroing in on first innings points against Bay and Basin.
After choosing to bat first, the Dolphins made 120, thanks to Tom Mason (26) and Michael Dolby (23 not out) – despite Rocky Ninkovic (6/23) and Gary Fuss (3/25) starring with the ball.
In reply, Ex-Servos reached 2/65 at stumps, on the back of Brandon Booth’s 29 not out.
