By splitting the weekend’s series with the Canberra Calvary two-all at OneHub Stadium and being assisted by Melbourne Aces defeating the Adelaide Bite, Atherton’s Bandits clinched their berth in the 2019 ABL playoffs.
During the weekend’s four-game series, the Bandits lost the first two matches 11-6 and 4-1 respectively to the Cavalry – a side which features former Shoalhaven Mariners’ Cam Warner, Kyle Perkins and Jack Middleton.
But the hosts in Brisbane rebounded to win the final two matches 10-3 and 8-nil – to seal the split series.
Both the Bandits and Cavalry have already clinched spots in the playoffs and will play Geelong-Korea and Adelaide respectively in the final round games of the season this weekend.
