Nowra Golf Club.
Saturday's event was a medley single stableford, the first round of a 36 hole event, playing for the Manildra Cup.
A Grade winner was Max Carney with the best 38 points from Denis Mulvihill and Chris O'Shea, who took second and third on a countback also with 38.
Rob Coulthart had the best score of the day in B Grade with 44 points to win from Maurie Bruce 41 and Andrew Goodman 39.
In C Grade, Scott Brown from the SGA GC won with 39 points from John Bond and Tony Hunter, both on 37.
The ball rundown went to 34 points. The long drives on the 9th went to Joel Perkins, Collin Lott & John Bond.
Nearest the pins were won by Tony Hunter on the 4th, Paul Hucker from Hurstville GC on the 8th, David Murphy was closest on the 12th and the best shot on the 16th was only 16cm away and was hit by Dennis Davis.

The highlight of the day was an "Eagle" on the 13th by Col Darley.
Next week is the final round of the Manildra Cup, with Brian Hanley being in attendance to present the Cup to the winner.
A large field contested the men's Wednesday Christmas hams & turkeys single stableford and 4BBB stableford. Cam Stubbs showed a clean pair of heels by winning A Grade with 46 points from Paul Phillips and Harold Loxton from Caloundra GC both with 41. B Grade was won by Warren Dunlop on a countback with 38 points from Noel Rosskelly and Scott Weissel from Worrigee was third with 36.
The ball rundown went to 35 points. The 4BBB was won by Harold Loxton and Ron Rice with 47 points on a countback from Cam Stubbs & Neil Dinnie.
Nearest the pins went to Greg Stephenson from St Georges Basin on the 4th, Peter Done was closest on the 8th and the best shot on the 12th was by Jason Wikman.
The vet's played their final round of the year with a 14 hole Canadian Foursomes followed by the presentation lunch. The women's event was won by Jill Downie and Betty Tucker with a score of 64 nett and the ball rundown went to 70 7/8.
Nearest the pin on the 8th went to Angela Boadle and the drive & pitch on the 4th was a "birdie" by Janet Priddle and Gloria Davis, and the 12th was won by Jill Downie and Betty Tucker. In the men's event the winners were Cliff Weatherill and Greg Christian with a nett 59 3/4 from Bob Martin & Kevin Longford 61 3/8.
The ball rundown went to 64 7/8 nett. Nearest the pin on the 4th was won by Dennis Davis, Michael Russell won the Jackpot on the 8th. The 12th went to Norm Levi. Best shot on the 16th was by Dennis Davis.

The vets will have a short break until January 8.

In overcast and drizzly conditions it was good to see 62 vets turn up to play.

A great field of keen and enthusiastic golfers challenged for the end of year Callala Stableford Champion spot which was on offer.
To the winners, congratulations, and to the rest of us bad luck but we are left to lament our golf over the year that was 2018.
Great news for 2019 with the introduction of Twilight Golf at Callala between 1pm and 3pm Monday to Friday: 18 Holes for just $50 for two players with motorised cart.
Andrew Kozinski was the man of the moment playing consistent golf to record his rewarding win with 40 stableford point and taking his place at the top of the podium.
Second, third and fourth all came home with 38 stableford points which of course introduced them to the dreaded count back.
Visitor Graeme Humphrys was declared the official second place winner.
Third home was Peter Thorpe. Fourth home was Dave Dickeson.
The South Nowra Golf Exchange 11th hole again proving difficult and again no player was lucky enough to win the bucks on offer. Come along to next Saturday to win the $150 for that one great or lucky shot.

Callala Country Golf Club Tuesday 18th December 2018
Last day of the year for Vets golf at Callala and we had a good field of 43 players for today’s Stableford round.
First home today was Bill Downton on fire today with 43 points off his 24 handicap. Second was Neville Shearsby with 39 points off a 25 handicap, Third was William Snelgrove with 39 points off a 13 handicap and fourth was Andrew Rostron with 38 points off a 20 handicap.
Nearest the pins were: 3rd G. Jurotte, 10th XXXXXXX, 11th B. Downton, 13th A. Lichacz, 16th W. Snelgrove.
Ball rundown was to 32 points and 16 players received a ball.

WWPSWC
Despite it being very humid and hot we had 15 of our members, turn up at the Country Club to play in a Stableford Event.
The winner on the day was Benjo with a very impressive score of25 points. Next came Captain BB with 23 points.
Third on a count back with 20 point was Fitter, Rocket Ron was part of that count back and in doing so missed out on his usual Mars Bar. Mumbles actually won the Mars Bar.
Kiwi won the nearest the pin on his signature hole being the 10th. Weet Bix won it on the 13th. BB won the drive and pitch on the 15th.
Next week back to the Basin for a 7.45 hit off.

One afternoon of social play on Saturday 29 despite hot conditions. In a game of triples that involved the Tisdell family from Forbes Barry Dunn, Steve Kellett and Brian Tisdell were defeated by Annette and Daniel Tisdell skipped by Terry Hayes. The game of fours saw on the day Terry Bezant, David Lambert, Lindsay McNamara and Peter Delamont defeat Grahame Hooke, David Shaw, Robin Reid and David Badger by a small margin.

3rd place with 3 wins + 9 margin were Roy Cartledge & Jim Jamison from the Ex Servos club.

Shoalhaven Ex-Servicemen
Wednesday’s poor weather saw only 18 staunch bowlers brave the elements. One game of Social Triples was contested along with three games of Pairs. Saturday was a cool, overcast afternoon. A great turn up saw 28 players endure this weather.
Wednesday 19th December: The green’s pace quickened from slow to medium as the afternoon wore on.
Rink 9 held a thrilling game as Paul Takac, Tony Mikus and Harry Pearce played immaculate bowls.
Rink 10 saw a tough game with four of our better players battling it out for a win by John Mac and Jim Jameison of just 21 to 18 shots.
Rink 11 John O’Dell and Graham Eyre rolled some wonderful bowls to just get home by 22 shots to 19.
Rink 12 in the game of the week, Don Salway and Ray Solway got away to a great start with a fabulous five shot end. Alan Morrissey and Peter Smith replied the best way possible with a few fantastic three shot ends to take the lead by 7 to 6 shots. Spurred on, Don and Ray started playing superb bowls to take the lead out to 16/9 by the 13th end. A ferocious four by Alan and Peter started their comeback and by the 17th end there was only 1 shot in it at 16/17 shots. Don and Ray were able to settle and won the next 2 ends by a shot each but Alan and Peter would not be denied. A terrific 2, on the penultimate end, saw them within one shot of the lead. Don Salway and Ray Solway held on and won the last end by two shots to win the game by 21 to 18 shots.
Rink 13 In another tough struggle, Ian Abberley and Graham Eyre played exceptional bowls to triumph by 21 shots to 15.
Rink 14 The last game of the day witnessed Tony Mikus and Jim Jameison play scintillating bowls to whip their opposition by 26 to 15 shots.

Rink 8 observed Steve Hollington, Julie Buchanan, and Allan Furniss bring home the bacon, after a tough tussle, by 21 to 13 shots. Rink 9 In another game of the triples, Greg Morphett, Paul Goddard and Ray Solway just got up by a shot after being down 19 to 20. Rink 10 watched as Ian Abberley and Michael Edwards played exceptional bowls. Rink 11 observed a scorching win to Ray Hannett and Dave Milne as they overcame their opposition by a large score. Rink 12 In another uneven game, Karen Waters and Bronwyn Perkins trounced the men by 27 to 17 shots. Rink 13 Bazza Waters and Alan Rose slaughtered their opponents by 25 to 13 shots.
