Hosts Norths opened the day against the undefeated leaders Shoalhaven Ex-Servicemens – knowing anything but their best would be good enough.
Unfortunately for Justin Weller’s men, they couldn’t produce the necessary performance.
After being sent in, Norths could only muster 49 from their 14 overs, thanks to Justin Ganderton’s 4/5 from 3.3 overs.
Other wicket takers for Ex-Servos were Nate Jones (2/4), Sam Bagnall (2/10), Blake Munilla (1/8) and Trevor Thomason (1/22).
In reply, starts by Blake Munilla (19 not out), Trevor Thomason (12 not out) and Chris Bramley (12) saw the visitors home (3/53) in the eighth over.
Ben Beck was Norths best with the white ball with two wickets, while Justin Weller claimed one.
Norths didn’t have time to dwell on this heavy loss though, as they had to back straight up against Bomaderry – a side who had already defeated them this season in the one-day format.
The Tigers won the toss and elected to bat first – a decision that proved costly, as they could only reach 9/88 from their allocated 20 overs.
This was largely due to the fact Norths had six different wickets takers, led by Nick McDonald (2/11), Hugh Gillen (2/12) and Ben Beck (2/17).
Other to claim one wicket were Justin Weller (1/6), Damian Spelta (1/10) and Dean Tyson (1/14).
In response, Norths’ innings started horridly, as skipper Justin Weller was dismissed for a golden duck by Charles Gardner.
But solid innings from Samuel Lowcock (45) and Nick McDonald (38 not out) saw the hosts home (2/91) in the 11th over.
Charles Gardner and Nathan Wallace were the the two wicket takers for the Tigers.
These two results leave Norths in third place on the T20 ladder, with two wins and two losses to their name.
After four games played each, Norths sit only behind Ex-Servos and Berry-Shoalhaven Heads – who both have won all four of their matches in this format this season.
Sitting in fourth are Nowra, with a 1-3 record on the season, who sit just ahead of Ulladulla United on percentage, as both sides have one win and three losses through the first four matches – with Bomaderry (0-4) in sixth.
Next round, Nowra host Bomaderry, Norths travel to Ulladulla and Berry and Ex-Servos have a top of the table clash at the Berry Sports Complex.
