Since 2005 thousands of bike riders have dressed as Santa, Mrs Claus and their elves to raise more than $70,000 for the Rural Fire Service.
On Thursday, December 13 riders will cycle through Huskisson and Vincentia not just to raise money for the RFS, but also to spread the Christmas cheer.
This year funds will be used to support the running of brigades and the purchase of new equipment. The Huskisson RFS is hoping to buy new oxygen resuscitation equipment with this year’s donations.
Last year 476 riders took part in the event, and this year organisers hope they can smash the record of 627 riders.
To take part in the event, visit www.santaride.com.au. RFS volunteers will be out in force on the dya, collecting donations and cheering on the festive riders.
