It was the culmination of 19 weeks of non-specialist initial officer training, teaching the basics of navy life, including military drill, survival at sea, fire-fighting, leadership, military history, weapons handling and boatwork.
The new entry officers paraded as a guard on the quarterdeck and marched past the reviewing officer, Deputy Chief of Navy, Rear Admiral Mark Hammond, in their ceremonial uniforms, in front of friends and family.
Even heavy rain during the ceremony couldn’t dampen the graduates’ spirits.
