Awards were given out across a number of sporting disciplines, with most outstanding awards and best and fairest awards presented.
One of the highlights was the awarding of the 2018 Premier’s Sporting Challenge (PSC) Medal which was made by Premier’s Sporting Challenge Ambassador and NSW Swifts Netball captain Abby McCulloch to netballer Elecia Parrott.
The award was accepted by her mother Nicole.
During her ambassador speech Abby McCulloch spoke of her career and the need for hard work, perseverance, resilience and determination to achieve your dreams and taste success,
“Set goals and follow those dreams,” she told the assembled students.
Mention was also made of girls’ 15 years netball team which claimed the South Coast under 15s crown and will compete at the Combined High Schools’ top 16 state play-off in term one next year.
The team also played in the NSW Schools’ Cup for both government and independent schools and finished fourth overall.
In a great effort Nowra High was the second placed government school behind Westfield Sports High.
Following the awards presentation Ms McCulloch staged a coaching clinic for the school’s netballers.
St George Illawarra Dragons NRL player/ambassador and Australian Jillaroo Kezi Apps presented the 2018 Dragons Medal to Jayden Brody,
