The under 18s team, which contains Beau Buckpitt, Luke O’Connell, Jared Smith, Aidan Lewand-Parsons and Harry Phillips, will compete at Curl Curl Beach on Saturday, November 24 – following a strong showing at the recent Triple Bull Cronulla Gromtag event, in which they finished sixth behind eventual winners Elourea.
During the Gromtag event, Ulladulla will be competing against teams from Elouera, Scarborough, Cronulla, Southbridge, Sandon Point, Snapper Rocks, Burleigh Heads, North Shore, Dbah, Leba, Curl Curl, North Shelly, North Avalon, Long Reef and North Narrabeen, among others from around the country.
In other Ulladulla Boardriders Club news, the club held its annual presentation day on Sunday, rewarding a number of its stars top efforts during the season.
On the day, Jared Smith was named Surfer of the Year, while Jason Evans took our Clubperson of the Year.
The other major individual award presented saw Taylor Purser take out the Carey Klein Award (Junior Clubperson of the Year).
Aidan Lewand-Parson took out the open men’s section from Christian Pimm and Jared Smith, while Luke O’Connell, Beau Buckpitt and Harry Phillips were the top three in the under 18s.
Nathan Marks claimed the over 30 men’s division from Mark Carroll and Adrian Hellman
Graeme Parsons, Adam Richards and Jason Evans were on the over 40 men’s podium, while Pete Myers. Kirke Beirke and Kevin McClean received awards in the over 50 men’s.
In the open women, Charli Tout took out the top gong from Keira Buckpitt and Jess Ikin, while Charli Tout also took out the under 16s prize from Tyler Ikin and Taylor Purser.
In the other junior sections, Koby Jackson won the under 14s ahead of Ariel Hutchinson and Keira Buckpitt, as Tyler Newland, Lincoln Dell and Hayden Minassian were the top three in the under 12s.
