Our T-ball had a busy night with Dolphins having a double- header, first against Seahawks then against Stingrays. While the games were on, the other team were testing their skills doing batting and fielding drills.
Our T-ball competition had a huge turnout with a full squad for new coach Lewis for the Dolphins with some great hits from Jackson Turner. Coach Michael for the Seahawks had a full team with Chad Moreau working hard and being the stand out on the night. Coach Ben had the Stingrays who all performed well with Charles Meagher being the team’s most enthusiastic player for the evening.
For our Zooka/Junior baseball game, Stingrays were first up to bat with Charlene Keith having a beautiful hit out to 3rd base, but no runs scored for the first innings. Seahawks were next up to bat with nice hits going to Cooper Stibbard and Jack Meagher. Also big congratulations to Daniel Lawler scoring his first home run for the season out to centerfield and bringing runners in. Seahawks scored 3 runs for the 1st innings.
The second innings saw Stingrays come back in with lots of energy to score 5 runs with some good hits and a triple base run to Mason O'Rourke and Mackenzie Mannix. Singles went to Jasna Palmer, James Kellam, Adam Lonesborough, Justin Kellam and Allison Davis. Seahawks then came into bat with Brooke Palmer having a beauty of a hit to first base, but unable to bring any runs home to keep the score 5-3 to Stingrays for the win.
On Sunday, November 18, Shoalhaven Mariners travelled to Fred Finch Park at Berkeley to play Pirates Blue for the second time this season with a finishing score of 16-4 Pirates’ way.
The first innings saw Mariners in to bat first, Mackenzie Mannix first up reaching base safely followed by Daniel Lawler who also reached base safely. With a couple of outs, we then gained Mitchell Parrott and Lochlan Quiney on base with Lochlan Quiney bringing in Mariners’ first run of the day. Will White had Mariners only hit of the innings out to left field bringing in our second run for the innings.
Pirates in to bat saw them bring in 4 safe across home plate with Callum Donnelly hitting a home run. A nice out was made by pitcher Noah Tagliabracci to first base Mackenzie Mannix for the out. The second innings saw Mariners bring another 2 runs in over home plate, Noah Tagliabracci having a nice hit out to left field. Pirates back into bat had 4 safe hits and 5 runs scored over home plate to bring the score to 9-4.
The third innings saw Mariners unable to bring any players over and again Will White had Mariners only hit of the innings. Fourth innings saw Mariners struggle with the bat with Mackenzie Mannix our only player having a safe hit to left field. Pirates came out bashing the ball all round the park making it difficult for Mariners, bringing over another 5 runs to finish with 16-4.
Pitching duties were shared between Noah Tagliabracci who threw 49 pitches with 34 strikes with 4 strikeouts and Mason O’Rourke who finished with 16 pitches and 8 strikes.
