Scams are many and varied.
Scammers prey on a multitude of different organisations and people to get their hands-on money or property.
They can take on a variety of different forms from alleging the victim was having problems with a computer/modem or other device and require access, to posing as the tax department informing the unsuspecting target that they have an issue.
The scams can be as simple as offering a credit and needing account details to place the credit or extra return into your bank accounts.
After that a lot of nerdy computer action goes on with the result of your money in your bank accounts gone.
Please do not under any circumstances give any person access to your details in your computer let alone allowing it to happen over the phone.
We hear of such happenings every day however there is no shortage of people being ripped off.
