AFTER first beginning boxing as a teenager, as a means of self defence, Bomaderry product Mark Lucas has come a long way in the sport.
From competing at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in 2014, to turning professional and winning all nine bouts he fought, Lucas’ career appeared set out in front of him.
But earlier this year in July, Lucas decided to hang up the gloves after losing ‘that fire in his belly’.
Six months later though, he has recommenced training ahead of his next fight – booked in for February.
Sports editor Courtney Ward was lucky enough to catch up with the Shoalhaven product and discuss his journey in the ring and his future goals, so check out their in depth chat below.
