THE unbeaten campaign for the Greater Illawarra Zone under 15s Weblin Shield team has continued at the weekend, as the side easily accounted for St George at Olds Park.

Going into Sunday’s clash, the Greater Illawarra side, which contains North Nowra-Cambewarra’s Hyeon Parsons and Lachlan Mark as well as Shoalhaven Ex-Servicemens’ Luke Jones, had already chalked up wins against Inner Harbour West, North Shore and South Eastern.
So when they won the toss, they decided to get runs on the board and bat first.
Behind solid innings’ from Rhys Cattle (77 not out), Kobe Ross (24) and Lachlan Mark (21), Greater Illawarra posted 9/184 from their 50 overs.
For St George, Patrick Brown (2/28), Karan Deshwal (2/33) and Jack Braithwaite (2/36) all claimed two scalps.
In reply, the hosts wilted under the pressure from Greater Illawarra, being all out for just 66, after 29 overs.
The standout was Luke Jones, who finished with extraordinary figures of 5/0 from his 4.1 overs.
Jones received support from Matthew Laughton (2/8), Bailey Leadbitter (2/17) and Andy Magennis (1/14).
The team's next match is on Sunday against Sutherland at Figtree Oval.
In other Greater Illawarra Zone news, the under 12s Arch Caswey Shield team are now 3-2, after defeating St George at the weekend.
The win, at Shane Lee Field, was set up by 58 from Blake Cattle and 5/22 from Joshua Garnero.
The Greater Illawarra Zone’s under 13s WS Gee Shield team after now 2-3 on the year, after going down to St George at HV Evatt Park.
In the loss, the standouts were Euan Riedy (2/20), Luke Bramble (24) and Bailey Abela (23).
Matching the exploits of their under 15s counterparts, are the Greater Illawarra under 15s Harold Moore Shield side, who have won all five matches they’ve played this season.
Following wins against Inner West Harbour, North Shore, Fairfield-Liverpool and Parramatta, the side just edged out St George on Sunday.
The stars in the win were Berry-Shoalhaven Heads’ Alec Dobson (2/13 and 36), Jack Yates (2/29) and Thomas Williams (60).
Greater Illawarra’s under 16s CS Watson Shield side have only played three matches this season, winning two and losing one.
Their most recent win came against Sutherland at Keira Village Park, where 91 not out from Samuel Hobson and 3/36 from Jack McDonald set up the win.
