After a solid opening round at Queenscliff last month, Mollymook’s Sam Zustovich, Brock Scrivener and Kate Lewis all shone on the sand once again.
Zustovich, who won the under 17 men’s beach flags and finished seventh overall in the open men’s beach flags last round, dominated from the outset, to take out the open men’s flags – against much older opposition.
Lewis also improved on her opening round result of fifth in the open women’s beach flags, finishing as runner-up.
Not to be outdone, Scrivener managed to claim fifth in the open men’s beach flags, after finishing third in the open men’s beach flags and seventh in the open men’s beach sprint at Queenscliff.
The next round of the Ocean6 Series will be held at North Wollongong from December 14-15.
Before that though, Zustovich and Lewis, are headed to Adelaide, where they will be competing at the 2018 Lifesaving World Championships.
During the championships Zustovich will race in the youth men’s sprint and beach flags, while Lewis in the open women’s sprint and flags.
The pair will be joined at the World Championships by five Mollymook SLSC boat crews.
Barry Page (sweep), Noel Butler, Chris Lowe, Len Bolin and Rod Austin will compete in the 260 years + men’s masters division.
Garth Brooks (sweep), Russell Bartlett, Paul Newman, Kevin Whitford and Craig Matthews are in the 200 years + men’s master class.
