The side played Illawarra in a round two Greater Illawarra Zone Inter-Association match.
Illawarra won the toss and sent the Shoalhaven boys into bat.
Shoalhaven started strong with Harry Wood (26) forming productive partnerships with Daniel Hylton-Cummins (nine) and Elijah Guyatt (15).
At drinks, Shoalhaven was 2/82 after 20 overs.
The middle order of Jackson Riley (13), Riley Ingram (20) and Ryan Malecki (11) all made starts.
However, the Shoalhaven boys lost a handful of wickets at times to be bowled out for 130 in the 39 over.
Shoalhaven started well with the ball having Illawarra 2/45 after 20 overs.
Tight bowling by Campbell Bramley (2/ 22 off seven overs) and Ryan Malecki (1/14 off 7.4 overs) kept the runs down.
As everyone knows catches win matches and the Shoalhaven boys just couldn't hang onto them.
The boys put up a fight, but Illawarra got the runs in the second last over.
Other wicket takers were Jackson Riley (1/ 6 off 4 overs), and Tobias Eyland (1/ 9 off 4 overs). Flynn Dunn bowled well and was unlucky to finish with the figures of 0 /7 off three overs.
This weekend is the T20 Rounds at Bernie Regan Complex, North Nowra and Shoalhaven will be taking on South Coast and Highlands.
The teams are sure to love the shorter and exciting format of the sport.
