
A Coolangatta man who police alleged broke into a woman’s home and had sex with her without consent has been found not guilty after a trial in Nowra District Court.

Lucas Benjamin Harris, 36, of Coolangatta was charged with aggravated sexual assault - break and enter with intent and sexual intercourse without consent.
Court papers said police alleged Harris met a woman, who he knew, at the North Nowra Tavern on February 13 last year.
After talking and having a couple of drinks, Harris allegedly propositioned the woman, who refused his advance, before she went home.
Sometime between 11pm and 12.45am the next day it was alleged Harris broke into the woman's North Nowra home, who awoke to finding him having sex with her.
The woman told Harris to leave and later discovered a back window, which she had left partially open, due to it being a hot night, was fully open.
Judge Chris Hoy found Harris not guilty after trial.
