Again the students packed the mat with over 50 exponents enjoying the class. This year marks Bushido Judo Club Shoalhaven being continuously active for 22 years of judo training and competing, producing winners in local, state, national and international championships since 1996.
Bushido Judo Club Shoalhaven have this year played host to judo players from all over Australia by running and organising the 2018 Australian Judo Championships which proved to be very successful and a big bonus financially to businesses in the area.
Bushido Judo Club Shoalhaven is also known internationally with a judo competitor from France, Carla Mendes, second Dan black belt, demonstrating her experience to members at the club.
Clearly Clara enjoys the classes training with our junior and senior students alike.
The club is so lucky to have Hiromi Fagan, third Dan black belt and a resident of Shoalhaven Heads, who has been coaching for 10 years at the club.
Hiromi specialises in special needs coaching for judo players.
Hiromi goes back to Japan to update what is needed for the players as they specialise in this coaching in Japan.
Bushido Judo Club Shoalhaven nationally and now internationally is the hub for judo training, because of the engaged and proactive coaching environment. Shoalhaven has certainly been put on the map for judo with visits from judo competitors from Singapore, Italy, France, Japan, Holland and USA .
The club has 161 members all under the guidance of one of the most impressive coaching teams in Australia.

Bruce Fagan sixth Dan, 1992 Olympic Coach, 1990 Commonwealth Games Coach and Shoalhaven Hall of Fame Sports recipient.
Darren Fagan, third Dan 1996 Olympian four times Oceania Champion and Australian Champion and formerly ranked a top 10 competitor in the world.
Danny Fagan, third Dan 11 times Australian Champion and formerly ranked in the top 11 in the world.
Hiromi Fagan, third Dan 2016 Australian Champion and Japan representative.
Ken Murphy, second Dan former State Champion.
Casey Duggan, first Dan South Coast Heavyweight Champion.
Elisha Gilmore, first Dan, Australian representative to World Titles and former Oceania Champion.
George Lappin, first Dan Medalist National and State Titles
Tony Butz, first Dan Martial Arts author and historian
Daniel Fagan, first Kyu Young Men’s dual Australian Heavyweight Champion and Taylor Fagan, first Kyu gold medalist in the 2018 Australian titles.
