A 20-year-old man facing assault charges is on the run after escaping custody at Frankston Magistrates Court.

Police are appealing for public assistance to track down Caleb Pavlovic who had been behind bars in the court and was awaiting prison transfer when he escaped about 4pm on Tuesday.
The charges being heard when Pavlovic escaped include criminal damage, aggravated assault of a female and committing an indictable offence while on bail, police say.
He was last seen running along Beach Street towards Frankston Railway Station.
Pavlovic is described as about 170cm tall and has a cross tattooed under his left eye.
He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, grey pants and white socks.
