CAMBEWARRA’S running sensation Cristine Suffolk has added more medals to her impressive collection, by dominating the recent Alice Springs Masters Games.

Suffolk, who now has 423 medals in her career collection, opened the competition with a gold medal in the women’s 800m race, running a 3:07.22 to edge out Northern Territory’s Marsha Maule-Murphy and Jane Strauss.
She claimed her second gold medal the very next day, winning the 3000m, in a time of 12:50.56 – just under a minute slower (11:53.78) then the meet record time she set in 2016.
Suffolk’s third medal came in the women’s 45-49 year old 5km cross-country, where she finished second in a time of 20:41.4 – just three seconds behind winner Sarah Crawford (20:38.7).
Suffolk, who spent 32 years with the Nowra Athletics Club before recently joined the Victory Runners group, finished of the successful competition with a third gold medal in the 1500m (6:09.59) and two silver medals – firstly in the women’s 45-49 year masters mile (6:35.40) before adding another in the women’s 45-49 10km race (45:53.30).
