Preliminary work has started for the $10.8 million multi-deck car park at Shoalhaven District Hospital.
The project will deliver a new multi-deck car park and new ground-level parking that will significantly increase the hospital’s parking capacity to approximately 500 spaces, to meet future demand for parking for patients, visitors and staff.
Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District executive project director Suzanne Harris said early works have begun on site to deliver 60 new ground-level spaces to provide additional parking capacity during construction of the multi-deck car park.
The work is being carried out behind the Grand Pacific Health GP Super Clinic and eventually the South Coast Cancer Care Centre.
The NSW Government has pledged $10.8 million for multi-deck car park, while the funding also includes a $1 million contribution from the Grand Pacific Health GP Super Clinic.
“Work on the multi-deck car park is expected to begin later this year, with the project due for completion later in 2019,” Ms Harris said.
The project is being overseen by Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District and Health Infrastructure NSW.
