At Woollahra Oval, both teams were held scoreless until midway through the first half, when Hewson put Sydney Uni on the board first through a penalty conversion.
Warringah’s Brittany Duff evened up the score 3-all, before Kim Davey and Ash Hewson scored tries late in the first half.
Both tries were converted by Hewson, as the students led 17-3 at the break.
Warringah however would not go down without a fight and Shanice Parker got the reigning premiers on the board early in the second half, to make it 17-10 after 48 minutes.
This would be as close as the Ratettes would get, as Sydney Uni bagged the next three tries, with Iliseva Batibasaga, Grace Hewson and Claudia Bell all crashing over to put the game well out of reach.

Hewson converted all three to extend the Lionesses lead to 38-10 with 10 minutes of the match remaining.
Shanice Parker crossed for Warringah’s second try of the day in the 76th minute, but it was too little too late as Sydney Uni made up for last year’s defeat – capping off an undefeated season, where Hewson’s side won by an average of 40 points per contest.
