Through the first two days, ACT/NSW Country declared at totals of 9/303 (Gilkes 15 and Engelbrecht 47) and 8/174 (Gilkes 100 not out), while NSW Metro could only muster 141.
Starting the day at 1/16, NSW Metro was bowled out for 105 in pursuit of an improbable target of 337 on a slow and low wicket.
NSW Metro got off to a horrid start as Jordan Gauci (one) and Bankstown opener Daniel Solway (six) departed shortly after the day’s opening, leaving their side struggling at 3/17.
Nick Bertus (14), Param Uppal (nine), Axel Cahlin (9) and Austin Waugh (zero) followed suit as NSW Metro stumbled to 7/55.
NSW Metro never recovered being all out for 105 in the 50th over – with Engelbrecht claiming 1/8 from his 3.1 overs.
Other ACT/NSW Country bowlers to take wickets were Nathan McAndrew (2/14), Gregory West (2/18), Tom Pinson (2/21), Ben Taylor (1/10), Joe Kershaw (1/11) and Hayden Kerr (1/16).
