66-year-old woman arrested after 27-year-old man dies of stab wounds

A woman has been arrested following the death of a 27-year-old man in the Shoalhaven.

Police were called to the Sanctuary Point home around 9.20pm (Monday, September 10), after reports of a stabbing.

On arrival officers found the man suffering a stab wound to his chest.

He was treated by NSW Ambulance Rescue  paramedics at the scene but died on the way to hospital.

A 66-year-old woman was arrested at the scene before being taken to Nowra Police Station where she is assisting detectives from South Coast Police District with their inquiries.

It is understood police will hold a press conference regarding the incident at 11am this morning (Tuesday).
