On Saturday, online readers were asked ‘do you think in general the local community will benefit from a BMX pump track at Jerry Bailey Oval?’
Three days later by Tuesday afternoon, 86 per cent of 202 respondents had voted yes.
A Shoalhaven Heads Community Forum spokesman said the poll result was a fair indication of the community sentiment.
“It’s not surprising,” the spokesman said.
“Youths have spoken in favour of the pump track at forums in the past, as well as older members of the community.”
This result contrasts to the strongly-held view of Save Jerry Bailey Oval members that Shoalhaven Heads residents do not want a pump track built there.
Shoalhaven City Council is taking submissions on the proposal via its website.
