Ken Arthur’s side stuck it to the competition’s minor premiers Coffs Harbour for the first two and a half quarters – leading 25-20 after the first 10 minute period and 47-42 at half-time.
Things continued to follow suit after the break until the scores were tied 53-all with 3.06 to play in the third quarter.
From that point on, it was all Coffs Harbour, as they piled on 40 points to the Tigers’ nine, to win the match 93-62.
In the loss, the Tigers were led by Kate Denyer (18 points), Chelsea Hogg (11) and Olivia Patterson (nine), while Suns’ Jordon Woods led all scorers with 20 – being one of six Coffs Harbour players score in double figures.
The Suns would go on to loss the final to Wagga Wagga 86-76 on Sunday, behind 39 points from Shakera Barnes.
