On Wednesday, huge winter fires enveloped North Nowra and Mount Kingiman. More than 300 firefighters worked throughout the day with 100 remaining on overnight.

As of Thursday morning, the cause of the fire was unknown. The Rural Fire Service announced the North Nowra fire was downgraded to Advice as the conditions eased through the night. Firefighters remained on the scene.

The firefighters, paid and volunteers alike, worked hard throughout the terrifying and unexpected fires.
