The WWPSWC At Vincentia
Golfing once again at the Course on the Hill saw eleven players hit off in a Stableford Event. It was a very nice fine Saturday morning.
The winner on the day was Craggy with a hard to beat 22 points for the nine holes. The closest to him was 17 points. He has now got a considerably reduced handicap to play with next week.
Weetbix was next with 15 points on a countback from Jerboy. Nearest the pin on the 5th was Craggy who also won the nearest the pin on the 9th.
The Mayor took over the handicapping today in the absence of BB the Club Captain. Next week’s game is at Sussex Inlet hit off prompt at 8am.
Callala Country Club Veterans
A very windy and unpleasant winter’s day greeted a field of 38 players for the Vets monthly mug. As usual the monthly mug is a stroke game and the wind played havoc with everyone’s game.
Well almost everyone, as Michael Inness turned in a cracker of a round to come in with a nett 64 off of a 14 handicap to win the day and the monthly mug.
Michael was also playing Robbie Jerman in the final of the matchplay.
Unfortunately Robbie had a rare off day when Michael was having a great game and the result was inevitable as Michael took the matchplay title for the A grade.
Second today was Lee Bebber who is having a purple patch at the moment with a very consistent game to come in with a nett 68 off a 24 handicap.
Keep up the good play Lee the handicap’s tumbling!!
Tony Pitt-Lancaster was third in with a nett 71 off a 23 handicap.
Fourth was Alan White also with a nett 71 off a 31 handicap losing on the countback.
Well played guys in very difficult conditions. Ball rundown was to a nett 76 with 10 players receiving a ball.

Callala Country Club
A beautiful winter’s day greeted 40 players for today’s game being a 2 person aggregate stableford.
20 teams teed off and the winner’s today were Colin Chessell and Craig Wessell with 69 points.
Second team in were Graham Lewington and Bob Sutherland with 67 points.
Third team in were William Snellgrove and Steve Monsalve with 66 points.
Fourth were Doug Ingle and Harold Reynolds also with 66 points missing out on the countback.
No-one was inside the circle on the 11th for the Golf Exchange Sth Nowra prize.
Ten teams were in today’s ball rundown.
Nearest the pins were: 3rd W. Morris. 10th K. Levick. 11th ----. 14th S. Chapman. 16th S. Monsalve.

Saturday's event was a medley single stableford, with 4BBB in conjunction, generously sponsored by Ian Harris, Peter Done & Cliff Weatherill. Thank you gentlemen for your continued support.
A Grade was won by John Underwood with 40 points from Mark McClellan & Stephen Rice who both scored 38. The long drive went to Michael Russell.
B Grade was won by Phil Johnston with 40 points on a countback from Graham Napper, with Collin Lott having the best 37 for third. Long drive went to Peter Foley.
Ryan Henry won C grade also with 40 points from John Ludewig and Ron Reynolds who both had 39. John Austin got the driver going to win the long drive. Balls were distributed to the better 35's.
The 4BBB was won by John Ludewig & Tony Gilmore with a big 51 points from Graham Smith & John Underwood on 48.
Denis Mulvihill won the nearest the pin on the 4th, Col Darley had the best shot on the 8th, the 12th was very close for Mark McClellan and Peter Marynowsky took out the 16th.
Next Saturday is a single stableford sponsored by Nowra Veteran Golfers.
With a little bit more run on the course Wednesday's men's comp produced some excellent scores.
Peter Brown came out on top with 42 points from Col Stubbs & Warwick Stubbles, who both had 41. Balls ran out on 33 points.
Warwick Stubbles took out the nearest the pin on the 4th and Graham Smith had the best shot on the 12th. On the 16th, Peter Done hit the ultimate shot - a hole in one!! Well done Peter.
When his marker went to record this on the nearest the pin & Jackpot card, he found that Peter had to share the Jackpot of $1000 with Gary Bridge, whose shot finished 15cm away!! Well done Gary!!
On Thursday Women's Golf played a Texas Shootout, where all players play their own ball from the selected tee shot.
The winners on the day were Jill Levi, Sandra Goddard, Maree McLean & Donna Hewat with 146 points.
Second were Angela Boadle, Patricia Austin, Robyn Moore & Nancye Massingham with 127 points and following them were Peta Merchant, Linda Trusler, Sandra England & Sue Hunter 126 points in third place.
Balls went to 120 points. Both drive & pitches on the 4th & 16th were won by the team of Angela Boadle, Patricia Austin, Robyn Moore & Nancye Massingham.
Next week Women's Golf play the a single Par event.
The Vet's competition on Tuesday was a 4BBB Stableford and the team of Linda Trusler & Di Pritchard won the women's comp with 45 points and also had the best score of the day. Balls went to some teams on 40 points.
Nearest the Pin on the 8th was won by Sandra England and she also took out the Jackpot. Drive & Pitch on the 4th went to Joyce Wallace, on the 12th to Robyn Moore and on the 16 Marj Burns was the closest.
The men's event was cleaned up by our regular Jamberoo visitors, with Gary Hemus & Terry Smith winning with 43 points from Ian Unsworth & Dave Cotterill who had the best 42. Balls went to 39 points.
Nearest the Pin on the 4th went to David Goodman, the 8th to Phil Davis, John Ludewig was closest on the 12th and Norm Levi took out the 16th.
Next week the Vet's play their Monthly Medal.
The Men's AGM is on Wednesday at 6pm. Please come along and support your club. The rain dance didn't work last week, so try again, or go to church or wash the car!
The Country Club St George’s Basin Women
We played the first round of our 4bbb championship for 2018 in great conditions. Julie really thought so. Her birdies on 9 and 18 were very handy.Kerry Mayer and Julie had 48 points to be 3 clear of the challengers, Judi and Judy,. with Lesley and Yvonne Potts on 45 as well.
Trish Dyball and Gali Gee are in the mix with 44. On 44 also are Deb and Jenny Hartman and Lynda Roberts with President Dell. Lynn Dunn and Jill OConnor are not to be dismissed with their 43 points. Next week will be very fiercely contested.
Plans are well advanced for the CCC and charity day on 24th August. Keep those donations rolling in.

Darren Brudenell was best player for Mohawks with four finishes, one being a 105 peg and thirteen scores of 100 or better including 2 x 140. Matt Goozeff had four finishes and Dulcie Ward and Shirley Butler had three each. Stacey Flentjar threw the high score of 121. Kay Dowell had four finishes for Cherokees and Dave Hogan had three finishes and 125. Gloria Liddicoat top scored with 130.
The Bangers Defeated Camels 7-4
Joe Frolka was best player for The Bangers with five finishes and 174. Rhonda Barbara and Kerrie Dempsey had two finishes each and Rhonda top scored for the ladies with 112. Megan Stewart and Sue Kenny had three finishes for Camels and Peter Godfrey had two finishes and 102. Megan top scored with 114.
Phoenix Defeated Meerkats 6-5
Danny Watson, Steve Neader and Jodie Armstrong had three finishes each for Phoenix. Steve top scored with 138 and Jodie threw 133. Vic Walker was best player for Meerkats with four finishes and 140. Nat Sadler had two finishes. Ken O'Neill also threw 140. Meerkats played one short.
Kookaburras Defeated Coyotes 6-5
Therese Bournes and Leanne Blair were best players for Kookaburras with four finishes each and Ken Kelleher had two. Peter Coggins had a great game for Coyotes with four finishes, one of those was a 108 peg as well as the ultimate high score of 180.Shane Pritchard also played well with five finishes.Karen Flentjar and Michelle Potter had a finish each and Berlinda Pritchard threw the high score of 120.

Phil Reeves was best player for Pirates with five finishes, a 107 peg and 140.Karey deBakker and Deb King had a finish each and Karey threw 122. Marie Perrin had a great game for Dragons with five finishes. Peter Vider had three finishes and 140. Kaylene Hackett threw the high score of 125.
