Two players sent off, two players in the sin bin and a series of malicious incidents darkened the contest.
Jamberoo won the match 46-14 at the Berry Showground but victory could come at a cost.
Jamberoo number six Simon Maslanka could face a stint on the sidelines after he was sent off in the second half for his involvement in an off the ball incident, while his captain/coach Jono Dallas left the field nursing a shoulder after an incident that saw Berry forward Jack Parrish sent off right on fulltime.
Both Parrish and Maslanka will hear today (Monday) from Group Seven regarding the charges they will be facing at the judiciary.
Along with Jamberoo’s Kieran Pearce, Parrish also spent time in the sin-bin in the second half for his involvement in a scuffle.
The Superoos, at one stage in the second half of this spite filled match, were down to 11 men against the Magpies with 12 players.
The Magpies players would be disappointed they could not put any points on the board in the second half, particularly when Jamberoo only had 12 men for most of the last term.
Berry also blew a handy 12-nil lead in the first half.
Converted tries to centre Lachlan Nellestein and fullback Blygh Herron saw the Magpies enjoy a 12-nil lead, 25 minutes before the break.
The home side, as shown by a 40-metre charge by big prop Bill Ryder, did not have any trouble getting into opposition’s territory.
Ryder’s run came to an end via a brave tackle from Jamberoo fullback Dean Watling who was literally the last line of defence.
Down 12-nil Jamberoo needed a spark and halfback Dallas started to pull the strings.
His pinpoint cross-field kick led to a try to second rower Corey Grigg and when winger Andrew George scored shortly after the Superoos had levelled the score.
Then centre Jake Clarke got into points scoring act for the visitors and all of a sudden the Superoos held a 16-12 advantage.
Clarke scored three tries during the match.
A penalty goal to Berry five-eighth Josh Ingold made the score 16-14 at the break.
Instead of oranges, the teams had nasty pills at the break and the second half dominated by a series of spiteful episodes.
Herron, Ingold, halfback Jack McPherson, Bill Ryder and second rower Luke Ryder were the best for the Magpies.
Watling, Clarke, Dallas, along with second rowers James Gilmore and Grigg led the way for Jamberoo.
