The fire broke out on Millbank Road just before 3.30pm, Friday, July 20 after a P-plater lost control of his vehicle.
The driver came around a corner too quickly and came off the road. The heat from the exhaust caused the fire to break out.
Fortunately the driver was uninjured in the accident.
Firefighters from the Rural Fire Service West Nowra Brigade and Fire and Rescue NSW Nowra are working to extinguish the fire, which is being fanned by gusty winds.
For the safety of firefighters motorists are asked not to use the road.
