U7 Whites played the undefeated Berry team last Saturday narrowly losing 52-40 in what was a highly entertaining match. Man of the Match was awarded to Logan Jefferson, whose defence was outstanding, bagging himself 4 tries. Special mention to Braxton Buckley, who at 4 years of age, gives away 3 years to his opposition but with a determined charge he forced his way over the line for a well-deserved try.
U9 Greens played the Bomaderry Swamp Rats. Despite a focussed start, the boys couldn't stop the Swamp Rats jumping out to a strong half-time lead. Persistent efforts saw an improved second half, but ultimately Bomaderry won convincingly. Player of the Match was Aiden R. He was supported in defence from Jaxson, and attack from Fergus.
U9s played Milton-Ulladulla at home in front of a great crowd. Wind played havoc and there were some excellent plays. Jakai scored 5 outstanding tries taking the team to win 42-38.
U14-1 – The first week of the school holidays took its toll on numbers for the team, going down to Thirroul Butchers 40-0. The 12 boys took to the field knowing it was going to be a tough match and to their credit never gave up. Lance Wellington led the forwards who continued to do their job hitting the line hard to gain valuable metres whilst the backs were very unlucky not to come away with a few tries. Luke Jones put in his best performance of the season with some hard hitting tackles, great ball handling and impressive running. Another win is not far away with a few injured players due back over the next couple of weeks.
Under 16s were defeated by the better side on the day. While Burra had everything to play for they were found wanting in key areas. While there were some gutsy displays by some, in the end Berry ran away with the game 44-10. Tries Jayden Brody x2 Goals Kaleb Stewart 1/2
