Culburra Beach Rural Fire Brigade extinguished a bushfire on Culburra Road, suspected to be caused by an escaped pile burn that was conducted a few days earlier.
There was no damage to nearby roads or property and crews had the fire contained in about two hours.
Culburra Beach’s brigade praised the support it received from neighbouring brigades West Nowra, Greenwell Point, Callala Bay and Currarong brigades.
A small fire, by the side of the road, was also extinguished in Manyana on Saturday afternoon.
