The return to the Tigers Den helped Ken Arthur’s side defeat the Goulburn Bears 58-43 – to record their fourth win of the campaign.
Despite playing without stars Olivia Patterson and Sarah Bolt, the black and gold started the match on fire, jumping out to 14-3 lead by quarter-time.
The Bears fought back in the second quarter, but couldn’t stem the Tigers’ scoring, as the advantage stretched out to 18 points (29-11) by the main break.
Half-time didn’t help the visitors, as the Tigers’ backcourt of Kate Denyer and Christie Arthur ensured the hosts maintained their advantage.
Behind these two, the black and gold extended their lead to 19 points (45-26) as play entered the fourth quarter.
In the end, the Tigers overall scoring punch proved too strong for the Bears, as Ken Arthur’s troops ran out 15 points winners.
In the victory, Kate Denyer top scored with 19 points, including two three pointers.
She was well supported by Christie Arthur (13 points), Mary-Jane Toole (12) and Chelsee Hogg (nine).
The victory moves the Tigers (4-3) into fourth spot on the ladder, behind the Maitland Mustangs (7-1), Coffs Harbour Suns (4-3) and Wagga Wagga Blaze (4-3).
The team are back on the road this Saturday, heading to the Goulburn Basketball Stadium, to take on the Bears for the second time in eight days.
