The pair, in their Datsun 1600, completed 13 stages of the event in a total of two hours 17 minutes – just 20 minutes behind eventual champion Ben Barker.

Bega’s Barker successfully defended his 2017 crown, winning in his BMW 320i, from the Thomas Dermody-driven Ford RS1800.
