However, a Jervis Bay photographer was delighted to find four black snakes at Booderee National Park on Thursday.
The cold-blooded creatures were found lapping up the sunlight on what has been one of the warmest days in a week.
Photographer Dannie Connolly snapped the black snakes at Ryans Swamp, Booderee National Park, a known habitat a variety of extremely poisonous snakes.
Dannie had never seen a snake in the wild until she moved to Jervis Bay in 2014.
